IBM and Google are partnering to help office workers search not only through their own documents and email but also corporate databases, reports Reuters. IBM is linking its OmniFind corporate search system with Google's free desktop search. Searchable data ranges from email to computer files to blog postings to corporate repositories of data, images, audio or video - much of which is not available using public search tools.
The agreement comes weeks after a software and research pact by Google and Sun as Google apparently moves to confront Microsoft on PC desktops.
