NBC is launching FollowMatt.com, a microsite tied to the latest installment of Where in the World is Matt Lauer, reports the New York Times.
Automaker Hyundai has purchased all the advertising on the site to sponsor the trip at an estimated cost of $2.5 million. Hyundai reportedly had first crack at the sponsorship opportunity, and its ads will direct surfers to the HyundaiUSA website.
The site features information on Lauer's previous travels as well as what he's taking with him on his next trip.
NBC will promote the microsite by purchasing keywords related to it, including "Matt Lauer" and terms such as the names of countries.
