E&P Online: Republicans More Likely to Answer Web Polls
While this story really tells us that Republicans are more likely to voice their opinions online, I think the more interesting thing is tells us is that "the percentage of Internet users who went online for election news in 2002 was 22%, up slightly from 15% in 1998, the year of the last midterm congressional election."
I'm wondering how the future of political advertising might be impacted by a savvy internet marketer making his way into a one camp or another, and further how that might affect the outcome of a race based on a well designed 'billboard' website that really focuses on the issues, coupled with a tightly integrated online advertising campaign. I'd love to see that case study… maybe we all will in 2004 or 2005. I still have yet to see an online presence from a candidate that didn't seem like anything other than a last minute thought in the overall campaign budgetary pie.
