eCommerce Times: Hotmail, Yahoo Step Up the Mailbox Rivalry
Microsoft seems to be following, in a slightly stingier way, the footsteps of Google and Yahoo in giving Hotmail users more free disk space. Google's new Gmail service gives users a gigabyte of free storage - or about 500 times the Amount Microsoft granted users. Yahoo moved its free storage limits from four megabytes to 100 megabytes, which most users and analysts seemed to think would sate most email users' storage appetites, at least for now. Microsoft has been quietly giving 25 megabytes of storage to its non-paying Hotmail customers, but continuing to charge $60 per year for the amount of storage Yahoo is giving away for free.
