Internet Retailer: Home furnishings is the fastest growing online category, says new study

Among goods sold online, home furnishings is growing the fastest, according to Roper Reports. A full quarter of online adults purchased home furnishing items on the Internet this past year, up 17 percent from the previous year. Other categories grew more slowly. The apparel category actually fell six percent. The home furnishings category benefited from both a glut of deal-oriented sites in the category, focused on overstock inventories, as well as a record number of new home buyers.
