BrandWeek: Hilton Sweeps Up Online Bookings
Hilton Hotels found in June that more than 10 percent of its bookings came from its web site. Noting that these booking are far more profitable than the many more coming from other online reservations takers, such as Expedia and Travelocity, it plans to develop promotions to make more of its own online reservations. The hotelier boasted $109 million in bookings in June and hopes to blow well past that with online sweepstakes promotions starting in September.
