Factiva, a company owned by Dow Jones and Reuters that charges people to search its database of news stories, said it does not consider search engine news sites, such as Google News, to be a threat. The company's chief said these services will be limited to free content, and the really good stuff is for-fee. Both Dow Jones and Reuters charge syndication fees for their news stories to appear in other publications. Recently, Reuters reduced the amount of content it will release to the public without charge.
