Heavy.com Video Network Uses Ad Skins to Play Content

Male-targeting video site Heavy.com has launched a video ad and content network to reach the same group of guys, according to a company release.

The Heavy Men's Network will include Heavy.com, BNQT.com, Vidshadow and others, with more reportedly to come. All sites in the network host video already, but need an effective monetization platform.

Heavy expects to provide that platform with help from Husky Network's "Video Skins," which puts videos from any source into a player that serves as a CPM-based ad unit.

Heavy believes that using the video player as an ad will yield a better user experience, because content is not interrupted by unwanted messages. Branding the video player's skin also exposes viewers to ad messages for a longer period of time.
