Hearst Gets a Clue, Joins YouTube

Mashup-ready

Hearst Magazines has decided to begin publishing video content on YouTube.

And not a moment too soon. YouTube has become a de facto communication tool for publications, advertisers and even the Queen of England.

The publisher shall build YouTube channels for titles including Marie Claire, Seventeen and Good Housekeeping. The channel will be used for contests and promotions.

The YouTube channel is expected to expand the reach of its brands and drive traffic back to their individual Websites.

Ad revenue from the channel will be split between YouTube — which of course is owned by Google — and Hearst.
