Hearst Corporation has just announced its purchase of UGO Networks, a major online entertainment company.

UGO purveys news and content on games, films, Television, DVDs, music, sports, comics and women. With over 11 million unique visits in the US and 28 million worldwide, the acquisition earns Hearst a major web-based men's lifestyle brand.

UGO reaches one in 10 online users in the 18-34-year-old demo, and is supported by ad revenue, including customized ad options for blue chip brands.

The deal is expected to finalize in the next few weeks, subject to regulatory approval. Financial terms were not disclosed. Both companies are privately held.
