Havas Consolidation Played as 'Integration'

NYT: Havas Plans to Unveil a New Network to Manage Various Services and Agencies Under One Roof

Back when Havas announced layoffs and a planned consolidation of much of its below-the-line businesses under the Euro RSCG brand, it was seen as a cutting of losses. But today's announcement of the new Euro RSCG 4D brand is being positioned as a deliberate effort to integrate the complex puzzle of groups, companies and services offered by the ad agency holding company. That's certainly one way of looking at it, but the main problem in integration has not been below-the-line services working together, but rather a lack the above-the-line major media agencies deigning to work with the rest of the shops.
