Five of the top 10 multi-category computers and consumer electronics sites experienced a decline in traffic in March, with Sony Electronics, down 27 percent from March 2004, suffering the largest drop, reports Internet Retailer, citing Nielsen/NetRatings. Sony Electronics site visits totaled 3.2 million, compared with 4.4 million a year earlier. eBay Electronics had the second-largest decline, falling 17 percent to 8.3 million visits from 10 million a year earlier, Nielsen/NetRatings reports.
Other sites seeing drops in traffic were CDW, down nine percent; Sony, down three percent; and TigerDirect.com, down one percent. OSTG saw no change in visits. CircuitCity.com saw the biggest increase in traffic, with a 35 percent increase from March 2004, followed by COMPUSA.com, up 34 percent, and BestBuy.com, up 17 percent.
BestBuy.com had the largest number of visits at 10 million, with eBay Electronics ranking second. eBay Computers came in third with 6 million visits, followed by CircuitCity.com at 5.4 million.
