Hackers Threaten to Go after MySpace in April

Two hackers, known as Mondo Armando and Mustaschio, are threatening to engage in a self-described "whiny, attention-seeking ploy" during April to expose security holes - one a day - in MySpace, PC World reports.

"We could have just as easily gone after Google or Yahoo or MSN or IDG or whatever. MySpace is just more fun, and is becoming notoriously [obnoxious] about responding to security issues," Mondo Armando is quoted as having said.

In the past, hackers have used such "month of bugs" projects as a way to draw attention to themselves while exposing the security flaws in a well-known online product or service.

MySpace dealt with widespread attacks on its site in December from a worm that affected users via QuickTime.
