Pulling content from its existing magazine titles, Hachette Filipacchi is creating a one-stop portal for people seeking home-buying and improvement tips and tools, writes AdWeek.
The site, called PointClickHome.com, would bring together content from a number of Hachette titles, such as Elle Decor, Home and Metropolitan Home. It would provide people with information on home buying as well as decor, design and home improvement.
To make the site interactive, Hachette will give visitors the ability to create and decorate a virtual room. E-commerce will also have a major presence, with people able to plan out a project and then buy the necessary products. Hachette also plans to stock the site with original material, such as question-and-answer columns.
PointClickHome will complement, but not replace, any of the websites of Hachette's magazine titles. The site is planned for launch in the second quarter of this year.
