Consumers Like Each Others' Email; Daily Marketing Messages, Not So Much

A study from online firm Habeus shows consumers primarily connect with one another by using email, reports MediaPost.

Email is expected to remain an oft-used communication tool, despite the rise of social networks like Facebook, which lets them pass messages to each other in other ways.

67 percent of respondents said they prefer email today, and 65 percent claim they will probably feel the same way in five years.

69 percent reportedly worried about email scams.

Daily emails from marketers were identified as among the most annoying uses of email and are perceived as capable of negatively impacting a company's reputation.

About 60 percent of survey respondents have a separate email address used solely for signing up for corporate or marketing email lists.
