Greystripe Debuts Flash Ad Units for iPhone

Mobile ad network Greystripe now offers clients the ability to push rich media ads — including Flash videos and advergames — on iPhone units.

New formats include:

  • GS.Impact, which lets brands extend existing online ad campaigns to mobile. Marketers may wield "all the creative power of Flash on an iPhone," a company representative boasted.
  • GS.Tailgate enables users to create miniature branded games in Flash, then place them before, after or in the middle of existing iPhone games.

Available actions for all Greystripe ad formats include click-to-YouTube or iTunes, maps, App Store, data, call, audio, survey, canvas and branding capabilities.

Screen Digest forecast the market for rich media advertising on mobile would hit $2.79 billion by 2012. Over 60 million ad-funded mobile games would be downloaded worldwide per year, the publication wrote.

Greystripe-sponsored reports found that mobile ads significantly increase brand awareness, and mobile gamers in general prefer the iPhone experience to other handheld options.
