Google's May Search Share Up 10 Percent

Google accounted for 65.13 percent of all U.S. searches in the four weeks ended May 26, 2007, according to Hitwise data, reports MarketingCharts. Yahoo Search, MSN Search and Ask.com received 20.89 percent, 8.40 percent and 3.92 percent of searches, respectively.

The remaining 49 search engines in the Hitwise Search Engine Analysis Tool accounted for 1.66 percent of U.S. searches, Hitwise said.

Search engines remained the primary way internet users navigate to key industry categories.

From May 2006 to May 2007, the Travel, News and Media, Entertainment and Business and Finance categories received double-digit increases in their share of traffic coming directly from search engines, according to Hitwise:
