Google Video, launched in June, is offering archival interview footage of TV stars of decades past - from Phillis Diller to Dick Van Dyke - for now granting users access to 75 historic interviews out of the 284 to be eventually provided by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Foundation, reports CNET. Interview subjects include directors, producers, writers and executives - from Carl Reiner to Steven Bochco.
"This will be the first time users can watch and search these full, uncut interviews online," Terri Clark, executive director of the Television Academy Foundation, said in a statement.
As TV and the web begin to converge, Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, AOL and others have been updating their search technology. Last month, Google posted a job listing for a GoogleTV product manager.
