Google is updating its Google Apps for Your Domain enterprise product released in August, with a new start page that will serve as the central access point for the product.
Google Apps for Your Domain includes communication and collaboration tools, such as Gmail, instant messaging, voice calling and collaborative calendaring, Internet News reports. The update will allow administrators to customize a start page for each user.
"These services are all unified by the start page, a new addition to this service, a unique, dynamic page where your users can preview their inboxes and calendars, browse content and links that you choose, search the web, and further customize the page to their liking," according to Google. "It's all free and everything is hosted by Google. No hardware or software required."
The apps package also includes web page design, publishing and hosting via Google Page Creator, as well as 2 gigabytes of email storage for each user, customization tools and help for administrators via email or an online help center.
There are no plans to adopt a revenue-sharing model for enterprises that use the Google Apps for Your Domain and so help generate ad revenue for Google - which is considering adding a premium option to the service next year.
