Google has stopped allowing downloads of its Accelerator software, within days of first offering it in beta form, CNET reports. Google said it had reached user capacity and so has limited the downloads of the software, which speeds up the delivery of web pages. A Google representative denied Wednesday that the halt was connected to security or privacy fears. "It is a limited beta," he said, "and we reached the capacity of users." The software caused some concern that it cached more data than was safe. Accelerator is set up to automatically work with Firefox and Microsoft's IE once it has been downloaded.
