Google Makes Move on Indian Markets

Google made a foray into four of the most commonly spoken languages in India, the great polyglot country. While Yahoo previously created an English version of its own service for India, Google launched in Bengali, Teluga and Marathi, as well as English.

Competition has been heating up among American services to gather market share in the increasingly online Asia and South America. Some American advertisers, though, have expressed concern that much of the run-of-site media purchased comes increasingly from markets in which they do not sell their products.
