CNET: Study questions Google's long-term dominance

A Vividence study shows that users overwhelmingly prefer Google, but not for the reason most people cite. Search results, they found, were largely similar among the search engines studied. The simple interface users enjoy on Google turned out to be the key favorite element. At the same time, Vividence rated Google the lowest in terms of encouraging users to click on its ads. Of course, those two things may be directly related.
