Google Expands into Norway, Kenya

Google Blog: Made in the shade

norsk.jpg

Google announced its entry into its 102nd and 103rd markets, with Norway and Kenya added to its global portfolio. The search giant's blog said that there was a legal department-inspired delay in launching the Norwegian version as Google means "sunglasses" in Norsk. (One MarketingVOX reader did ask the obvious question: Norwegian needed a word for sunglasses?) Google's international expansion has been rapid, with two and a half times the number of countries as first signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, and Google's countries tend not to up and withdraw.
