Google Dance Syndrome

ClickZ: GDS: The Google Dance Syndrome, Part 1

In this column Danny Sullivan identifies and discusses a new syndrome prevalent amongst those who participate in the Google Dance.

Google constantly tweaks its algorithm, and then once a month(ish) it updates its whole index effecting the Google search rankings of many webpages. Updates normally take a few days to settle down, with this period referred to as the Google Dance.

The Google Dance is a time of great excitement and anxiety for the SEO community, with each update being discussed and debated to the ninth degree. Danny suggests that for those that take this event too seriously, Google Dance Syndrome may set in. You have been warned.
