Google has purchased the Silicon Valley house where its cofounders rented a garage from a future employee to help launch their business.
Google bought the 1,900-square-foot Menlo Park home from Susan Wojcicki, Google's vice president of product management, who eight years ago leased her garage to Larry Page and Sergey Brin for $1,700 a month to help pay her mortgage, writes the Associated Press (via SearchEngineJournal). Google did not say how much it paid for its home site, but others in the neighborhood have been selling for $1.1-1.3 million.
Though not yet a historic site, the garage has apparently become an attraction, with busloads of annoying tourists showing up to take pictures.
