On the heels of announcing the availability of its Website Optimizer, Google has named several firms as "trusted consultants" to help companies use the tool, reports ClickZ.

Five companies have been tapped by Google as "trusted consultants": FutureNow, Optimost, EpikOne, ROI Revolution and SiteTuners. Companies that aren't familiar with multi-variate testing can benefit from a certified consultant to take the guesswork out of site optimization.

The named companies will work with webmasters to make sure changes are being implemented and other tweaks made. FutureNow, for one, immediately announced seven free services related to Website Optimizer that it will offer webmasters and blog authors.

Those include a ten-minute guide to testing, a free WordPress plug-in, an online webinar, a podcast with one of the Optimizer team members, a tips sheet and a whitepaper on A/B testing methodology.
