NTT DoCoMo, Japan's premier mobile carrier (and proud McDonald's sponsor), is joining forces with Google to bring online search, email, scheduling and photo-saving functionality to handsets, reports the Boston Globe via AP.
Powered by the i-Mode internet network, the features will be accessible on DoCoMo handsets by spring.
DoCoMo is reportedly also developing a next-gen handset on Android, Google's free mobile operating system. The phone will be announced in Q2 of 2008.
The company joined Google's Open Handset Alliance last month, according to Yahoo and NewsFactor.
