Google has emphasized that Google Search Plus Your World coverage of Search Plus Your World, does pull public content from the open web, not just content from Google+.
As the change rolls out, though, people are having their doubts.
Danny Sullivan at Search Engine Land writes that not only does the feature favor Google+, but does so even more than he originally thought.
The changes, he said, "turn Google+ into an essential social network for any search marketer."
FTC Complaint
For this reason, the Electronic Privacy Information Center is considering making a complaint to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, the LA Times reports. "We believe this is something that the FTC needs to look at," executive director Marc Rotenberg told the publication.
