Insatiable hunger
brings Glam global
Women's network Glam Media acquired digital marketing shop Monetise, increasing the global scope of its ad-selling operations. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Monetise sells ads on entertainment sites like Flixster, ARTISTDirect, TVGuide.co.uk, and other United Kingdom-based sites. The company also boasts "strong relationships with London advertising agencies," said CEO Samir Arora of Glam.
Its 17 employees, including two founders, will form the core of Glam's UK operations. Glam plans to colonize the rest of Europe, India and China before 2010.
The broader reach will help Glam hit target revenues of between $250 million and $350 before 2009's end.
Stateside, Glam focuses on broadening its stable of niche properties and forming strategic liaisons with woman-centric TV networks. The media group launched in 2005 and is thought to be the largest online network for women.
