BlogAds: Mondo Gizmodo
Blogtrepreneur Henry Copeland reports on the growing success of blogtrepreneur Nick Denton's Gizmodo project. Nick, founder of Moreover (headline syndication), made a chunk of change accidentally during the boom off of FirstTuesday (international tech networking), and he's used some of those proceeds to fund Gizmodo, the first of a series of commercial weblog projects he has in mind. Now running for three months, Gizmodo links to all sorts of articles and e-com sites regarding cool gadgets.
In that short time, the site has built traffic to 6,000 page views a day with zero marketing expenditure, and the site is moving "a ton" of some products, such as Samsung phones, through affiliate network deals. When traffic doubles again, Nick is planning to introduce advertising.
