Giants Cash Out of Super Bowl, Cash into Online Gaming

Giants try scoring on virtual turf

The New York Giants and GGL Global Gaming are partnering to improve the "pre-game experience" at Giants home games.

The pair will host online video competitions and a community portal, the Giants Game Day Live, for fans that dabble in gaming.

Users can track stats, rankings and leaderboards online, but Game Day Live can also be played on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

As with most popular multi-player games, users are encouraged to build a community. Tourney prizes will include tickets to home games, signed footballs and Giants merchandise.

For GGL chairman and CEO Ted Owen, the cup runneth over. "I put my heart and soul into cheering for the Giants over the years, and I can't tell you how ecstatic I am that they've won the Super Bowl! They're my passion, but so is gaming," he said.

"We’re combining forces to bring the #1 team in professional football together with the #1 leader in videogaming community and content, to make Giants Game Day Live the ultimate virtual sporting experience!"

But like the Giants' triumph on Super Bowl Sunday, the game's success depends on a panoply of factors. For details, visit the Giants website.
