The Gay Ad Network, which launched last August, now ranks number one in audience reach in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) category.
comScore Media Metrix reports the network drew 893,000 unique views in March. Its properties include Rosie.com, Gay Financial Network, GayGamer.Net, Gayborhood.tv, Damron and GayWheels.com.
Advertisers aboard include Air New Zealand, the Canadian Tourism Commission, Focus Features, Just for Men, Paramount Pictures and Bridgestone Tires.
The company recently also appointed Scott Mazer its VP of Sales. The former senior sales director of PlanetOut shall help the Gay Ad Network expand, in likely the same way femme network Glam Media managed to blossom since inception.
PlanetOut, a longtime leader in the LGBT category (indeed, it trades as "LGBT" on the NASDAQ), recently sold its magazine and book publishing business to gay TV network Regent. The niche media giant is rumored to be financially troubled.
