Gather.com Adds Columbia Records & Publishers as Sponsors

Gather.com, the social-networking sites for adults and their favorite celebs, has inked deals with three major publishers and a record label to sponsor sections within the site's newly created content categories.

Harvard Health Publications, Publishers Weekly, McGraw-Hill Professional and Columbia Records have agreed to provide Gather with exclusive content along with experts online to connect with members on topics such as books, music and health, MediaPost reports.

The site recently created nine new content channels. Gather wants to add experts related to each content area, and is planning to add video and audio capabilities soon to make it easier for members and experts to communicate.

Gather.com was started in 2005 and has 192,000 registered users.
