DM News: Gateway Retail Stores Will Close April 9

Bricks and mortar computer retailer Gateway will shutter its 188 stores, but keep its online and telephone ordering systems up and running. The stores will close on April 9, only a week after the announcement. The company has been a microcosm of advantages and disadvantages of the various retail distribution means, seemingly shifting every few years from a business dependent on catalogs, stores, telemarketing, and finally a website.
