Mr. Gates, 27, at
Microsoft in 1982
Last Friday marked Bill Gates' last full day at Microsoft. The company founder has decided to concentrate more on the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, his philanthropy group.
As planned two years ago, Gates remains chairman of Microsoft but will only come into the office one day a week.
In an interview with Tom Brokaw marking his last day, Gates also expressed pessimism about a formal relationship between Yahoo and Microsoft.
"I don't think that one is likely," he said, adding he believes Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will find "plenty of other opportunities."
Yahoo and Microsoft reportedly went back to the negotiating table last week.
