FT.com is the first website to integrate the ticker with desktop alerts. Both services will provide a new vehicle for advertisers to reaching users who might not visit the website but do interact with the FT brand. The ticker remains on the user's desktop, where advertisers can establish a permanent presence. The launch is sponsored by Nokia and is being supported, in part, by an online campaign.
