To help technologists share the results of their tests on domain-level authentication standards, the Federal Trade Commission has launched an email authentication website, DM News reports. According to an FTC statement, the aim is "to help identify domain-level authentication standards that aid the fight against spam and phishing, are inexpensive and simple to implement, and do not negatively impact the email system." At the FTC and Commerce Department "Email Authentication Summit" in 2004, the promoters of various authentication standards, including Yahoo's DomainKeys and Microsoft's Sender ID programs, agreed to make the results of their testing public.
