DM News: FTC Denies DM News’ Request for DNC Access Names
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) proved cagey again when faced with a Freedom of Information Act request from DM News requesting information about the parties accessing the no-call registry. The FTC has previously avoided a similar one from the American Teleservices Association (ATA) by first saying that it would cost more than a million dollars to process, and then later denying the request outright. This time, the FTC told DM News that some of the names were individuals, and they could not provide that sort of personal information. When DM News suggested the Commission black out any information deemed personal, the FTC declined.
