Free Wi-Fi Liberates BBC Online Services

After developing a relationship with wi-fi firm The Cloud, which controls about 7500 hotspots throughout the nation, the BBC is releasing its online services free of charge.

In addition to the news website and program sites, TV show downloads via its iPlayer will also be freely accessible, reports BBC News.
The iPlayer received a surprising amount of flak when it was released in beta solely for the Windows platform.

Alongside the free wi-fi announcement, the BBC also confirmed Mac and Linux users will also be able to use the iPlayer by year's end.
