News Corp.'s Fox Interactive Media (FIM) has purchased, for an undisclosed price, small internet startups Newroo and kSolo, Reuters reports. Newroo allows users to aggregate website and blog content in real time; kSolo's service lets users sing, record and share karaoke recordings. Newroo and kSolo technologies will be deployed across Fox Interactive Media-controlled sites, Fox said.
"Fox Interactive Media's acquisitions of Newroo and kSolo demonstrate our commitment to empowering users with interesting tools that they can use to further enhance their online experience and online identity," Ross Levinsohn, president of Fox Interactive Media, said in a statement.
FIM was formed last year by News Corp.'s Rupert Murdoch to take advantage of the internet, in recognition of the fact that that's where newspaper readers and TV viewers are headed.
