Ford Keeps Sportka Controversy Alive

AP: Ford Upset by Web Ad Showing Decapitation

Ford is hamming it up for the press, making another set of denials that it wanted its most recent viral ad to be released to the web. The latest ad of the series shows a cat getting decapitated by an "evil" Ford Sportka - a car sold in Europe.

But the ad, viewable through the links above, is clearly a five-figure production affair. A statement from agency Ogilvy & Mather, which handled the creative and production duties, noted that the action was computer generated. It was released onto the web on April 1.
