Forbes.com has hired 360i, a search engine optimization firm, to help it rank higher in search results - a sign of the growing importance of search engines to news publishers - writes Adweek. The SEO firm will adjust the Forbes.com site to ensure that spiders crawl all relevant pages. Forbes.com does not run search ads, whereas NYTimes.com and WashingtonPost.com both advertise using text ads that appear on news-related searches. According to a recent Outsell survey, the top two online sources of news and information were Google and Yahoo.
