For Help Installing Ceiling Fans, Whip Out a Phone and Text Home Depot

Home Depot is partnering with Avot Media to test video how-tos for mobile users.

The offering has been branded FAST ATTACH. During the pilot, shoppers at select stores in Florida can text product-specific SMS codes to Avot, which sends over mobile-ready videos on using the product.

The video currently in circulation teaches users how to install ceiling light fixtures and fans.

Store shelves will promote the availability of FAST ATTACH, including the SMS code needed for requesting a video.

Avot's AdVideo platform will distribute the content on Home Depot's behalf. It will also track campaign metrics, including total number of videos viewed, where they were accessed and on what devices, over the life of the test.

If successful, the partnership is expected to yield interest in Avot's technology from other advertisers and retailers.
