The first virus that can jump from a PC to a mobile device and erase files has been reported by Mobile Antivirus Researchers Association (MARA), which received the virus on Monday, reports PC World. The virus came with a text file that read, in part: "This is proof-of-concept code for educational purposes only. This virus closes the gap between handhelds and desktops, now it's one big world open to all." The virus copies itself into a handheld via Microsoft's ActiveSync, which connects PC with mobile devices. It erases all files in the My Documents directory if the device is running Windows CE or Mobile OS.
