First YouTube, Now Revver on Verizon Wireless

Verizon V-Cast subscribers will get another early Christmas present as Revver joins YouTube in providing content via Verizon's music and video service.

As in its YouTube partnership, Verizon will be the exclusive U.S. distributor for Revver content for an undisclosed period of time, according to Multichannel News. Financial details were not revealed, nor was the length of the contract. Revver will begin providing videos to Verizon's $14.99 a month V-Cast service in early December. Those selections can also be viewed online, on Revver's site, in a V-Cast Collection section.

"We've chosen to work with Revver because of its well-known respect for copyright and for the selection of high-quality video content it attracts," Verizon Wireless vice-president of marketing John Harrobin said in a statement. Verizon will provide new clips to V-Cast subscribers twice a week.

Revver, which offers contributors 50 percent of the ad revenue generated from their submitted videos, said the revenue-share plan would apply to videos selected by Verizon for V-Cast.
