Ferrell, McKay Launch Humor Site FunnyorDie

Comedian Will Ferrell and director Adam McKay helped launch FunnyorDie.com on Thursday, reports AdWeek. A project spokesperson said that a specially-made video distributed on the web has already garnered 1.5 million pageviews.

The site was funded by venture capital money from Sequoia Capital, who reached out to talent agency CAA. That contact led to the involvement of Ferrell and McKay, who put together the short film "The Landlord," starring Ferrell as a tenant and McKay's three year old daughter.

Visitors are invited to upload their own videos to the site, where they will then be voted on by the community. Only those receiving decent rankings will remain on the site with the rest being relegated to the "Crypt." CAA and others involved will use the site's submissions as audition tapes as they look for new talent.
