Blog and RSS search engine and advertising network Feedster will soon release a program allowing small publishers to more easily place ads in RSS feeds, Feedster VP of sales and marketing Chris Redlitz said at OMMA East this week, reports MediaPost. The service will be more self-service than Feedster's current RSS program and allow publishers to place ads in their feeds, similar to Google's AdSense.
Redlitz talked up RSS for its potential to deliver targeted, opt-in, contextual and spam-safe ads - but cautioned against misusing the medium the way email has been misused: "It's very easy to subscribe, but it's very easy to unsubscribe, too."
