FeedBurner Lets Advertisers Opt-Out of Content

RSS management service FeedBurner has launched a tool to let advertisers pull their ads from sites they deem offensive, reports ClickZ.

The tool is dubbed AdClimate and will let advertisers exercise control over where their ads wind up running. Not only can this be used for offensive content but also for brand-conflict instances. Advertisers can specify lists of words they do not want to appear and pages containing them will not run their ads. That enables advertisers to avoid having ads appear next to bad corporate news.

The product was developed in response to agency requests in order to overcome hesitation over advertising on user-generated content.
