RSS management service Feedburner is about to be purchased by Google for $100 million, TechCrunch reported after confirming the news with an inside source.
Rumors of the sale first surfaced last week and have been confirmed by TechCrunch's Mike Arrington. He reports the deal has been signed and should close by mid-June.
Feedburner was founded in 2003 and is considered the largest RSS management firm in existence. Publishers funnel feeds through Feedburner to gain a look at subscriber numbers and get other metrics.
Feedburner also has its own ad service, the Feedburner Ad Network.
