Mars and Agency.com have partnered on a flash site designed to build brand awareness for Snickers.
Snickers.com incorporates Snickers' current brand positioning: that of the candy bar as a feast. Watch one of the TV spots.
The site features animation, sound installations, experimental navigation, and Easter eggs (hidden perks for users).
The site also includes quirky characters from the campaign, TV spots, and nutritional and product info.
The previous version of snickers.com was more traditional, with little engagement. Snickers opted to incorporate the campaign into the main site instead of building a microsite — a route brands typically take, and for which they have to drum up fresh traffic.
A brand's main site typically enjoys existing traffic and visitors that are receptive to its ad messages.
